As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school provides minimal reading and exploratory opportunities for the students.
In addition, Patton Junior High appears to treat their teachers so poorly, which makes me wonder if they know student success comes from the top. My kids have had teachers quit mid-year or fired for simply handling behaviors that the administration won't handle.
Needless to say, after five years of my own children in the district, we will not be returning.
My child has also been harassed by administration, but the retention rate for administration is subpar, so that is to be expected. If you address concerns with the superintendent, know that it will be handled, but the investigation is not done well.
This is a sad realization, but I'd suggest sending your child elsewhere to ensure they receive a positive educational experience. Close Quote

Open Quote This junior high is one of a kind. I have had two children attend this school and they love it. The teachers care and hold the kids accountable for their academic work. They are firm but fair. My one child is now at a high school and said the big difference between Patton Jr. High and the high school he is attending now is that the teachers at Patton really care about the students and want them to learn and understand the material. Students at Patton Jr. High school have a choice to stay for 9th grade or go to a nearby high school for 9th grade... if you research across the nation school districts did away with Jr. high schools and transitioned to districts with intermediate and middle school thus pushing 9th grade to a high school level... this was done for budget purposes around the country. Bigger is not always better as far as an academic experience. In a small environment things are noticed. At Patton Jr. High students/parents get a better academic value for the money. The class teacher ratio is lower, the technology exposure is A+ and again the teachers, and all who work in the building really are what make the school a great experience for students. Others around us in the community have been in a rush to have their student attend high school ... my child has no regrets staying at Patton for 9th grade - to get again a superb academic 9th grade experience (in the end isn't about the learning...). The school has a bus that will bus kids of to the high school for sports and JROTC. We are thankful that our children have had the great experience to attend Patton Jr. High school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
