As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I know I shouldn't be all negative but there is nothing good about the Pontiac school district. I'm a student and go to Pontiac high, starting off they keep closing down the schools and cramming all the kids in what's left. The building are all run down and not kept up well, which the kids there don't make it any better because they don't care. There is always something wrong with the bus's and there never own time, I can recall a dozen times when I had to wait at the bus stop in the cold for up to or more than an half an hour and once didn't even show up. There are some teacher who care about whether or not you make to the next grade, but for the most part they don't care all they think about is there paycheck and I don't blame them for that because the students treat them like there doing something for the teacher when its the other way around. The student cuss out the teacher and just treat them like trash. There are so many fight, food fights and bullying. Every morning before you can even walk through the door you have to take your coat/sweater and backpack off and put them through a metal detector and walk through one, its like airport security. you cant bring your own food or drinks in so its there food (which I wont even go there right know) or you wait till your 8 hour school day is over. In my opinion the state needs to close down Pontiac school district and just bus the kids to the surrounding schools, but the city thinks it going to get better but its not if anything its staying the same. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
