As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is our 3rd year at the school and we have multiple children at the school. We had a very frustrating experience the first year but really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were still working out all the bugs that come from the first official year of being opened. But it has continued to be a frustrating experience! And this brand new school year is already not off to a great start.

Here are a few of our personal concerns/frustrations:

-HUGE lack of communication between faculty and parents! I get multiple notes home or hear multiple rumors about times, dates, and information about events.
-We feel like the principal only has the teachers best interest at heart. The faculty is very chummy and if you have a concern, the teachers all band together along with the principal. I think it's great that the principal defends his teachers, after all he did hire them and obviously thinks they're amazing. But who's looking out for the kids?! I just want to feel like I'm being listened to as a parent! Not all parents are just throwing a fit about silly things. There are valid concerns that are getting dismissed because the principal doesn't seem to believe that anything could possibly be wrong with any of his teachers. I know many parents who do not feel LISTENED to!
-After 2 years the school still doesn't have an up and running website! Hello, this is 2011!!!

Here are a few things that we have really liked:

-For the most part, my kids have had pretty great teachers. There was one we had some pretty big issues with and another that we had moderate issues with, but the others have been some of mine and my kids absolute favorite teachers!
-They are extremely spoiled when it comes to all of the technology they have available. They have definitely got to rank somewhere towards the top in the state for having some of the best things available to use.

I wish I could say that the things we have liked have far outshone the things we haven't, but that would be a lie. Overall, our experience with the school has been pretty frustrating. Close Quote

Open Quote This will be my son's second year at North Point. So far we're liking it, but I also can't believe there is no website yet for the school! Hopefully someone is working on that... Close Quote

Open Quote We have been really frustrated with North Point. A major communication gap exists between the school and the parents. The school has been open for two years but still lacks a website or any other consistent way of informing parents of important information.

The principal does not seem interested at all in input from parents. He seems bothered when parents want to voice opinions/concerns regarding their children.

Another frustration (that isn't necessarily the fault of the school administration) is that there are some serious safety issues. The school is located at one of the busiest intersections in Lehi, and less than two weeks before school starts no one seems to have information on if there will or won't be buses, if there will or won't be crossing guards, etc. When parents inquire at the school they are told these are district and/or city problems and the school doesn't have updated information on these items.

On a positive note, there are some top notch teachers at this school. So, if you're lucky, your child will get an amazing teacher and you'll rarely have to deal with anyone at the school besides your child's teacher. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
