Open Quote Both of my kids attend Kimball Wiles. My son is in 2nd grade and my daughter is in Kindergarten. We've had such a great experience with this school so far. It is a big campus with a lot of students but is very organized and has a nice community feel. The office staff/ admin and are all very informative and friendly. The teachers are FABULOUS and we are very impressed with the after school program on campus. (EDEP) The Gifted teacher for 1st and 2nd grade is pretty amazing too. We are so glad we made the switch from the local private school in Gainesville last year. Close Quote

Open Quote The school teachers are not trained to deal with students that have any type of learning disability, and do not have any other staff to support children with learning disabilities. Their "Title One" program is poor and does not really offer help to the student, is more of a "detention" than learning. Homework and responsibility of learning are constantly being shoved to the parent because the teachers are busy teaching "the FCAT" so that they all can pass and the school can get a good score. There is not real care about the children well being and future by any of the staff, including the principal. When presented with the challenge of a student that cant "run with the pack", the teachers will immediately label your child as lazy, depressed, among other names. They will offer you no testing of any sort or any kind of assistance to try to determine if your child has a disability or is actually not wanting to do the work. They just assume from the get go the child just does not want to do the work. My experience and my child's experience with this school was nothing short of a nightmare. I would recommend to not wait too long if you think your child might have a disability to seek for an alternate school. I guarantee that you will not receive any support from anyone at the school to actually help with your child's learning. Close Quote

Open Quote Teacher's show favoritism. At the end of the year only the children that won awards were praised on how they were the one's going places. So where does that leave the rest? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
