While the school has seen an increase in chronic absenteeism in recent years, reaching 35.1% in 2022-2023, this rate is still lower than some of the surrounding schools, such as Tice Elementary (29.5%) and Edgewood Academy (33.1%). This suggests that there are pockets of academic excellence within the Lee County school district. However, the school's increasing chronic absenteeism rate is a concern that warrants further investigation and intervention.

Open Quote NFMAA is an amazing school! They offer not only a fantastic and rich curriculum but also take the time to expose our children to the many different arts. They take dance, drama, chorus, band, violin, etc... This school groups students based on their ability level and also allows children to test out of classes to move up throughout the year! The principal, Mr. Dr. Santini, is a lovely man who cares greatly for the students at his school. They utilize positive reinforcement for good behavior by giving children dragon diamonds (a slip of paper) for good behavior. These they can exchange for things they want from the school store! About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
