Summary:

Innovation Preparatory Academy is a public charter elementary and middle school located in Wesley Chapel, Florida, serving 780 students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Innovation Preparatory Academy consistently outperforms the Pasco County and Florida state averages in various standardized tests, including End-of-Course (EOC) exams, Statewide Science assessments, and the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) in English Language Arts and Mathematics. For example, in the 2023-2024 school year, 87% of Innovation Preparatory Academy students were proficient or better in EOC/Algebra 1, compared to 52% for Pasco County and 55% for Florida. The school also had 100% proficiency in EOC/Geometry and EOC/Biology 1, significantly higher than the district and state averages. However, Innovation Preparatory Academy has a higher chronic absenteeism rate of 19.0% compared to nearby schools like Watergrass Elementary (25.7%) and New River Elementary (24.0%).

When compared to the surrounding schools, such as San Antonio Elementary, West Zephyrhills Elementary, and Chester W. Taylor Junior Elementary, Innovation Preparatory Academy stands out for its consistently higher academic performance and more diverse student population. While the school's higher chronic absenteeism rate is an area of concern, its overall strong academic results and commitment to providing a quality education make it a standout choice within the Pasco County School District.

Open Quote Final Draft, added bottom stuff.

Innovation Prep Academy is more suited to be called Inmate Prep Academy, as students are treated more like inmates than innovators.
If your child is remotely in any way innovative, this is not the school for you.
Now if your child is a medicated desk zombie, this school is perfect for you.
If you love haphazard administration, this is the school for you.
If you love “C” grade schools, this is the school for you.
If your child loves walking in only one direction all day, great school for you.
If you love teachers teaching your child a subject they are not certified to teach, then this is the school for you.
If you love micromanaging, then this is the place for your munchkin.
If you love a school that locks parents out and avoids parental communication at nearly every opportunity, then this is the place for you.
If you love arriving to school before school starts but youre munchkin is still locked out, you will love INPA.
If you love teachers who dress like vagabonds while giving your child a dress code violation for wearing a personal sweater in the winter, this is the place for you.
If you love being forced to pay a convenience fee on MySchoolBucks because your school is “cashless”, this is the school for you!
If you love being forced to order uniforms from one of the worst (online and in person) companies available, AllUniformWear, this is the place.
If you like receiving multiple texts that your child is failing only to discover the assignment was entered but not graded yet, (so a zero is registered) you're going to love this place.
If you like multiple sets of invisible & imaginary lines you're to wait behind in car line, this is the carline for you.
If you love buying your child a monthly kona ice only to discover the school is not giving your child what you paid for, INPA is it!
If your child loves minimal natural sunlight, this is a perfect building for all of their studying.
If your child loves to be taught on an iPad while the teacher is on their phone and other students are twerking on desks (we have videos) then this is the school for you.
If you just love an antiparent vibe, you will adore INPA.
If you love being asked to give the school money over and over and over again, INPA is it.
If you love fundraisers that sell cheap, made in China products, you will love their holiday fundraiser.

Of note Our son was in NHS prior to INPA arrival and within ONE year was bumped from honors/advanced to regular classes without ANY ONE from the school discussing with us. He is an A/B student and tests 1-2 grade levels higher on various subjects. He is an energetic (aka normal) preteen.

We lasted 1.5yrs before fleeing like so many of our friends.

Best of luck!!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
