Open Quote This school is the worst I've experience. Teachers are never present but quick to give iss and suspension for minor incidents. They are failing these students and always going off hear say instead of being in the classrooms. I've raised 5 kids in Rockdale school system and since COVID, Rockdale staff has dropped the ball in a major way. Close Quote

Open Quote I love Sims & the Sims family!!! Even in a school with nearly 600 children, the faculty & staff know my son.....they know me. We are greeted with a friendly, happy smile each and every morning, most times by name. Dr. Gay & Mr. Braswell (Principal & Assistant Principal) are fantastic with the children, loving discipline. They too know the children. I have nothing but good to say about the school. It is evident the teachers love what they do and have great leadership. I am an involved parent, I support what my son's teacher is learning........I reinforce what he's learning. We attempt to attend as many organized after school activities we can, as well as the SAC meetings.

This is a great school, with great leadership, great faculty & great students! My son is thriving and growing into his own person more and more here.

Additionally, I love that the teachers recognize children that are more academically advanced & challenge them, to avoid boredome, without stressing them out. They are very attentive to those children who need additional help as well.

The school is extremely organized as well!

Love my Sims family! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
