As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is filled with idiots. On the surface it looks like a decent school, filled with bright kids and the such, and the town looks decent, but on closer inspection one will notice that Perryville Senior High is a terrible school. The teachers here are amazing, but administration is terrible, constantly trying to sap money from all students, even though it does not need to. I've been to three school systems, Meadow Heights in Patton Missouri, Perryville in Perryville, and Donaldsonville in Louisiana. Out of all three, Perryville was the most corrupt, and Donaldsonville was, and this is no exaggeration, in the ghetto. perryville is a hot bed for drugs and drunken teens as well. I'm currently a Senior in the class of 2016. Close Quote

Open Quote As a parent, grandparent and product of PHS, I am able to say that Perryville High School provides wonderful opportunities for students, both academically and socially. The school works with the local college campus for dual-enrollment classes; my sons earned an additional 36 hours of college credit while taking courses at the Career Center; and my children both excelled in college (Mizzou and Fontbonne). Both are working in respected fields. As parents and grads of PHS, we've both excelled in our careers as well. PHS athletics, extra curricular and community service opportunities help create well-rounded individuals. Finally, the special services department at PHS helps developmentally disabled youth segue from high school to productive employment within their abilities through partnerships with local businesses and the sheltered workshop. Diversity abounds at PHS, and ability is celebrated. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
