Open Quote St.John's Prep in Astoria is a strong high school with an academic affiliation with St. John's University. In their senior year, students can complete their entire freshman year courses, 30 credits, towards a Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University. Therefore, they graduate from college one year earlier, saving a year's time and a year of college tuition. The campus is beautiful, with wonderful facilities, faculty, and student body. As a parent, I highly recommend this high school to all students in Queens or Manhattan. Close Quote

Open Quote Extremely impressed with the quality of education provided, professionalism of the teaches and the opportunities afforded. Honors program is superb-2 languages required and many AP classes. My son won a scholarship for engineering and my daughter is studying speech pathology, also on 3/4 scholarship. Best of all, it teaches values, morals and my children now have connection for life. My third child is definitely going to continue the tradition and attend St. John's. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
