As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote If No Stars were an option - that's what I'd give this school. Having had all summer to prepare for distance learning, the school and teachers are woefully prepared. Supplies they expect you to suddenly have, arrive days later. Teachers editing the lessons only moments before their sessions are to begin. I could go on and on about how horrible this has been. My student is lost, and... they have nothing better to say than, "Oh it will get better, you'll be surprised." Be prepared, for a lot of blank stares.... Parents, do your research before moving here.. This school has earned it's place at the bottom of the heap!!!! Close Quote

Open Quote Administration is absolutely terrible and gets worse with every year that passes. Bullying is a huge problem and the school focuses more on helping the student that is causing the harm than the one on receiving end. The only time anything becomes addressed is if the parent puts enough pressure on them and even then, nothing is done. There are plenty of other problems that parents shouldn’t tolerate happening at that school.

Not only are there issues with taking the safety of kids seriously, the school has such poor enrollment for English classes that all but one grade is combined this year. The teachers will ALL say the same thing, that the curriculum is very similar, it’s just the higher grade expands a little further. My oldest developed poor habits that I strongly feel is due to lack of challenge and hardly learned anything last school year. Some teachers have a real passion for what they do, but their voices go ignored by those above them.

Lincoln Street is failing many of our children on multiple levels. Change is needed and it should start with the principal. This school is a prime example of why it’s so important to talk to your children about how school is going and what is going on when they are there. Close Quote

Open Quote If it wasn't for our experience with a couple of the teachers, I'd give this school one star. The principal is almost never involved with parents and the rare occasion she is, she is unprofessional. The assistant principal is more involved, but neither seem to truly care about the students. They do not follow their own protocol and will drag their feet to look into anything. Whether it's something as serious as a child saying they had a gun in their backpack, a sub in teacher taking photos of kids on his phone throughout the day or assault and/or threats, it will take a long time for anything to even be looked into. Also, don't hold your breath for any sort of phone call assuring that they're looking into the issue or a follow-up cause it probably isn't going to happen.

Not only is safety of students not a priority, education can be worrisome. Each year the school seems to lose more students and more classes become combined. Do the lower grade children go through the same curriculum next year? Do the advanced kids in the higher grade get pushed to the side? I know that the answer for the 2nd would be heavily influenced by the teacher, but our experience this year was certainly disappointing.

If your child will be attending school here, I suggest that you document everything and push for meetings when needed. There are good teachers that pour their hearts into their classroom and it's incredibly unfortunate that administration is so poor. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers at this school are clearly overwhelmed by the number of students in their classes. With this, there is little to no discipline provided to the young children and "problem children" are thrown out rather than just given basic immediate discipline that they need to become productive. Every interaction I have had has shown extreme disorganization on the part of the teachers and staff. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
