It is part of the Estacada School District 108, which is ranked 44 out of 140 districts in Oregon and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

For example, in 2023-2024, 73.1% of 11th-grade students at Summit Learning Charter were proficient or better in ELA, compared to 57.4% in the Estacada School District and 45.2% statewide. In Mathematics, 40.7% of 11th-grade students at Summit Learning Charter were proficient or better, compared to 26.9% in the Estacada School District and 20% statewide. The school also performs well in Science, with 51.9% of 11th-grade students proficient or better in 2022-2023, compared to 39.4% in the Estacada School District and 32.7% statewide. However, Summit Learning Charter has a relatively high student-teacher ratio, ranging from 50.8 to 52.5 over the past three school years, which is significantly higher than the nearby Functional Living Skills Program (5.3), Wheatley School (12.9), and Clackamas Web Academy (26.5).

Despite the high student-teacher ratio, Summit Learning Charter's spending per student for the 2021-2022 school year was $5,120, which is lower than the nearby Clackamas Web Academy ($12,455) and Corbett School ($16,008). This suggests that the school is able to achieve strong academic outcomes while managing its resources efficiently, which could be a result of its virtual/online learning model.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Where to begin?
-42 kids in a class. 42!!!
-Teachers who tease and mock students
-Teachers who yell at children
-Lord of the Flies-style community where kids bully without consequences or intervention
-Shockingly poor instruction from under-qualified, unprofessional teachers.
-The illusion of security- they check your ID if you want to stay on campus. But there is zero follow through. Adults come and go. Kids come and go. It’s nuts.

All of this happened on the 1st day of school. I am baffled this school even exists. It’s terrible. Truly terrible. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
