However, the school's English Language Learner and special education students perform relatively better, ranking in the top half of Texas middle schools in these areas.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote After being a low performing school for the last 7 years, last year Boude Storey made AYP. For 2010- 2011 school-year, Boude Storey M. S. was ranked 39 among 40 schools in Division 4. Last year the school made it to the first place, which means that it was the school that showed the highest progress in Division 4. Parents and teachers comment about remarkable effrots this administration is doing to establish the much needed relationships among students, teachers and parents. Students' discipline issues have been reduced considerably. According to many parents and students, they feel the school is improving in all areas. The school vision is to become a "premier" school in Dallas Independent School District, which is a rather ambitious vision, albeit not impossible. As a community, we need to help this school achieve the goals set: Improve students' academic achievement; broaden parent involvement; and increase school pride and spirit. Teachers working at Boude Storey are among the best in the district; these noble professionals are bending over backwards to help the students be ready for their next steps in life. We will be looking forward to 2012-2013 scores to see if the school can achieve its academic goals. I will be posting a comment around August-September 2013 on the new school scores. Keep it up Eagles! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
