I graduated from Sherman High School in 1998. One primary advantage of the Sherman Independent School District is that, from Elementary School through High School, students have the opportunity to participate in programs that challenge their mind. The Challenge Program in Elementary, The Gifted and Talented Program in Intermediate and Middle School, & The Honors, AP and Pre-AP Programs in High School allow students to enroll in classes that more than adequately help them prepare for prestigious colleges. The curriculum of classes offered allows for smart students to become brilliant students. Close Quote

I attended Sherman schools growing up and graduated from Sherman High in 1974. I believe I received a well-rounded education, with serious concentration in the area of English/Language Arts of classic novels. In my adulthood, I have been amazed how many people cross my path who have not read the classics in school. Schools that do not introduce students to novels such as, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Great Expectations, Gone With the Wind, Scarlet Letter, etc...are remiss in providing a well-rounded education.
