As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Hit or miss with the teachers from year to year and the administration. Clear favoritism shown to some students and not others. Parents not adequately informed about areas where students may need help. Some teachers using ParentVue well and not others. PTA more focused on single, wealthier parents who can stay home with kids. Even meetings arranged to not accommodate working parents. Not an ideal school for diversity (not only race but religion, too). Asian, black, and other kids bullied with little done other than posters and student assemblies. Would gladly move my child out if there were other real options. Reviews on this site must have been coordinated as they are not reflective of actual school environment and issues. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is a sinking ship. We have watched the quality of education slip over the last few years. On the positive side, there are some outstanding teachers but the leadership both at the school and the school district undermine the talent of the teachers at the school. A new principal is in place and he has more on the ball than the previous administrator but believes in implementing major changes in the curriculum that have been proven to fail in other localities. I doubt the test scores needed for this school to remain accredited will be made this year and D.J. will no longer be a regular elementary school. We had three children there but have removed them all and placed them in private schools. It was a financial hit but necessary. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
