Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School

Summary:

Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School is an alternative public school serving grades PK-12 with a total enrollment of 173 students in Rosalia, Washington. The school is part of the Rosalia School District.

Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School has maintained a relatively high four-year graduation rate, with 87.5% in the 2020-2021 school year, which is higher than the state average. However, the school's dropout rate for the same year was 6.2%, slightly higher than the state average. The school's performance on standardized tests, such as the SBAC and WCAS, is mixed compared to the state and district averages, with some grade levels and subject areas performing better than others. The school has a relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 57.8% to 63.04%, indicating a higher level of economic need compared to the state.

The school's spending per student has increased over the years, from $20,556 in the 2018-2019 school year to $27,532 in the 2021-2022 school year, which may contribute to the school's ability to provide additional resources and support for its students. While the school's student population is predominantly White, the school may need to consider addressing the lack of racial diversity, as it could impact the educational experiences and perspectives of the students. Additionally, the school may need to implement targeted interventions and strategies to improve consistency in student achievement across all grade levels and subject areas.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Very small classrooms, average is 14 per grade. The elementary education is excellent. However as students journey into high school choices are limited, there are very few electives and variety for different learning types. If you do not like a teacher tuff luck because you'll have them for 2-4 years. The advantages are no cut sports and the few activities you are guaranteed a place in. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
