Lincoln Elementary School

Summary:

Lincoln Elementary School is a public elementary school in Vancouver, Washington, serving 341 students from kindergarten to 5th grade. The school consistently outperforms the Vancouver School District and the state of Washington in academic proficiency, with strong performance in English Language Arts, Math, and Science. However, the school faces challenges related to its socioeconomic makeup, with a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Academically, Lincoln Elementary School stands out, with 54.93% of students proficient or better in SBAC/English Language Arts, compared to 41.06% for the district and 52.63% for the state. In SBAC/Math, 48.95% of Lincoln students are proficient or better, compared to 30.34% for the district and 41.68% for the state. The school's performance in WCAS/Science is also strong, with 46.81% of students proficient or better, compared to 43.1% for the district and 49.73% for the state. While the school has a higher percentage of White students (63.64%) compared to nearby schools, it still maintains a diverse student population.

The high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch at Lincoln Elementary School (60.12%) suggests that the school serves a population with significant socioeconomic challenges. This may require the school to allocate additional resources and support to address the unique needs of its low-income students. Despite these challenges, the school has maintained a consistent level of academic performance, ranking in the top 500-600 elementary schools in Washington over the past several years.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My oldest son and my daughter both went through lincoln elementary in Vancouver, WA. Because of the wonderful assistance my kids received at lincoln, they were both selected for VSAA, and my son now attends an exclusive mid-western university. My daughter is now studying to be an english teacher in japan.

We used to live on 41st street, and loved the neighborhood and the kids! We attended every event and assembly, and I loved lincoln so much that I got a job working for the before and after school care program!

Principal Craig Hommnick was a wonderful person and a great resource for us while we were at lincoln. The staff was patient and wonderful! My daughter even had dyslexia, and due to the special attention she received at lincoln, she learned to unscramble the letters and words in her mind, and is now a straight A AP student!

I challenge ANYONE who says lincoln is not top in its class!

Love lincoln and miss the carnivals! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
